An Impossible Place

Hi Peggy here.  I hope you will have fun with this prompt:

Set your poem this week in an impossible place.

You can interpret the idea of an impossible place in many ways. It can be a fantasy or science fiction sort of place. Or perhaps a place with seemingly impossible conditions like a jungle in a desert, or a world without war.  It might also be an impossible place for you, like winning a gold medal at the Olympics or landing on Mars

.

In the impossible all things are possible.  So have fun.  (Photos from Impossibleplaces.com images).

So write a new poem, post it on your blog/site, and link it with Mr. Linky. I will be around to see all the impossible places you go!

    3. I hope you will post your sci fi attempt anyway. I went that direction myself. So many directions to go when there are no limits.

  6. Wow so many posts and comments already. We were out tonight seeing "Jersey Boys" (not the movie but the musical). Wonderful live music and very fast paced. I really recommend it! Now I am anxious to see what impossible places you all have gone to! Thanks for being so fast.

  7. The prompt is uncanny because I just wrote about this very feeling of impossibility. Because it is cathartic. Great stuff, guys.

  8. Thanks for this prompt! I thought of writing about a serious one before, but I dropped this thought later. So, here I came up with something light! Have fun! And curious to read others'.

  10. Just wanted to comment again, how is that dude on the bicycle cycling with those bricks all over him? Seriously amazed at his prowess. That is truly a Mission Impossible! Writing a poem seems doable after that.

I realize I may have bitten off more than I could chew by joining more than one poetry writing prompt. Am also a bit slow in commenting, still halfway through my list...but I will get to everyone this weekend! Bless. <3

  12. Hi Poets--so glad you all gave my impossible prompt a try--it was harder than I expected when I sat down to write my own poem. Amazing how often I am stumped by my own prompts. Oh well.

One thing I enjoy when I am reading responses on your blog sites is reading your profiles and finding out where you all live and what you do in your non-poetic life. Love the variety of people here from so many places.

And again thank you for writing your poems and linking them here and then going around to read what others have done. All second tries are welcome as well so keep linking if you want to.

    1. You are right, Mrs. Minerva. My mistake. I am going to put your link in Mr. Linky right now and leave the prompt open until tonight. Sorry.
