breaking all the rules

are you a person who does things by the book?

or do you throw the rules out the window?

this week,  i'd  like you to break a few rules

or at least bend them

here's how it'll work ~

write a form poem breaking some or all of its rules -
ie:  write a haiku with ten syllables in each line
or   write a ten line etheree with no regard to syllables

{find out more about poetry forms  HERE   HERE  or  HERE }

write a real or fictional account of the consequences of breaking rules

write a real or fictional piece about how much fun it is to break the rules or what rules you wish you could ignore

write about the rules in a fictional town/country/world and what effect they have on people's lives

write a poem about a rebel

just break some rules!!!

Please write a new poem for this prompt;  link it in with Mr. Linky;  leave us a comment below;  visit as many other participants as you can { and please leave them a comment, too! }

Thank you for jamming with us!

  5. As completely unlike me it is to break rules, I have made an exception here, and written in the voice of a gal who just can't help herself from doing things her own way. Me, I'm a straight arrow, and she frankly shocks me. Right, Sista Poet Dani? ;-)

  9. ...mine's about some Japanese culture as i dig to the art of love & forgetting... 'twas originally written in a sonnet form and after several revisions, cuttings, and additions it is now offered in free verse in a bit of prose-like format... hope you like it....smiles...

    p.s...thanks Dani!!!(:

  13. Hi Dani! Took me awhile, which rule breaking moment to share :-) maybe a collage of events and hmm maybe the statute of limitations hasn't run, yet...then remembered my first real rule breaker--perfect! Thank you for the trip back to where my bad self got her start lol!!

  15. Not sure this is what you wanted but it is what came out of the keyboard thinking about rules. LOL If there are rules about poetry I bet I break them every time.
